Michael’s greatest claim
to fame was being part of the original cast of one of the biggest flops
in Broadway history, Ain’t Broadway Grand, written by Mitch Leigh (Man
of La Mancha), Lee Adams (Bye, Bye, Birdie), and Thomas Meehan (Annie
and The Producers). It wasn’t! He last appeared in the National Tours of
City of Angels and Oliver. Before that he performed in Grand Hotel at
the Westchester Broadway Theatre. He has performed in numerous regional
and summer stock productions, performing such roles as the Emcee in
Cabaret, Sancho Panza in Man of La Mancha, Chino in West Side Story,
Billy Flynn in Chicago, Ozzie in On The Town, and Will Parker in
Oklahoma. He appeared in one of the original workshop productions of the
Off-Broadway hit, The It Girl, written by BT McNicholl and Paul
McKibbins. He has also been a musical director, songwriter, and teacher.
In 1992, while working as an engineer/arranger in a recording studio, a
beautiful young actress walked in to record a demo tape. Little did he
know that Cathy Bandin would eventually become his wife, singing
partner, and the mother of his two beautiful children! |
